Introduction
The Ranch
Nestled deep within the rolling Ozark Hills of Southwest Missouri, Crescent Hill Farm & Ranch was built from a simple dream: to create a life rooted in freedom, self-sufficiency, stewardship of the land, and a healthier future for generations to come.
Founded by Penelope Riedl, a devoted mother, grandmother, and matriarch of a close-knit family of both relatives and lifelong friends, Crescent Hill began over a decade ago with little more than determination, faith, and sixty acres of untouched ground. After relocating from New Mexico to Missouri, Penelope envisioned a place where wholesome food, hard work, and respect for nature could thrive together! A legacy that could one day be passed down to her children, grandchildren, and the community she loves.
What started as a small homestead has grown into a thriving farm and ranch operation spanning 180 acres across two neighboring properties. Today, Crescent Hill includes the original 60-acre farm and an additional 120-acre cattle ranch just one mile down the road, allowing the family to continue expanding their commitment to regenerative agriculture, sustainable farming practices, and ethical animal husbandry.
Penelope’s passion for healthy living was shaped by personal experience. Living with numerous food allergies and health challenges, including Alpha-Gal Syndrome, Lyme Disease, Celiac Disease, and other sensitivities, she understands firsthand how difficult it can be to find truly wholesome, trustworthy food. Her journey inspired a mission to provide families with an alternative to today’s industrial food system! One built on transparency, integrity, and a return to the way food was meant to be raised.
At Crescent Hill Farm & Ranch, we believe that healthy soil creates healthy pastures, healthy animals, and ultimately healthier food for the families we serve. Every decision we make is guided by a deep respect for God’s creation and the natural systems that sustain it. Through regenerative farming practices, rotational grazing, and responsible stewardship of the land, we work alongside nature rather than against it.
What makes Crescent Hill truly special is the people behind it. While proudly remaining an all-woman-owned farm and ranch, our operation has grown into a collaborative effort involving multiple families who share the same values and purpose. Together, we are committed to caring for our animals, preserving our land, supporting our local community, and providing the highest-quality products for our customers and our own families alike.
For us, this is more than farming; it’s a way of life. It’s about preserving heritage, honoring the land, nurturing community, and leaving something meaningful behind for future generations.
From humble beginnings to the thriving ranch you see today, Crescent Hill Farm & Ranch remains dedicated to the values that started it all: hard work, integrity, sustainability, and a deep-rooted love for the land we call home.
A Simple Truth from the Ranch.
"I'm not great at writing descriptions. We are a farm and we sell our meat. It's organic, pasture-raised, and finished on grass. Our meat is considered premium because of the breeds we raise and the care we give our Missouri soil."
